HOW KIDS CAN MAKE MONEY
A Few Business Ideas
Children have so many interests and passions, which leads us to the many ways of how kids can make money...
Computer Business
I remember trying to set up my first computer... all those wires and cables... I was totally lost! Perhaps your child can help adults set up their new computers. Maybe even help them set up their email account and teach them how to navigate the internet. Great for the child that is computer savvy! Baking Business
Does your child love to bake cookies or cakes?
My neighbour once asked me to bake a couple of loaf cakes for her because she was having company the next day and wanted something homemade. She paid me well for my efforts, and actually, it wasn't much of an effort on my part because I love to bake! Great for the child that loves to putter around in the kitchen! Photography Business
Does your child love to take pictures? When we go away to all-inclusive resorts, there are people that work for the resort that walk around and take pictures of us and everyone else at the resort having fun. Within hours, we can go to the lobby and select what pictures we want to buy and take home with us as our souvenir of the trip (at $15 each).
Your child could be hired to attend birthday parties, grad parties, retirement parties etc., Armed with their camera (preferably digital), he/she can snap pictures of people having a good time. Your child can then sell the pictures individually or download them on a digital file and give their client the whole thing for a fee. Great for a budding photographer! Playing Chess
Does your child love to play chess?
A friend of mine asked me if my son would mind playing chess with her elderly father at the retirement home he was living in. He loved to play chess and didn't have anyone to play a challenging game with him. She was willing to hire Spencer for a couple of hours every Sunday to give her father a couple games of chess to look forward to. This is a great example of how kids can make money and at the same time, bring joy into someone's life! Mowing Lawns, Watering Plants and Getting Rid of Newspapers
When we go away on holidays, papers and flyers get thrown on our mat (even though we have a sign that says "No Junk Mail"). The grass grows too long, and eventually, the house starts to look like there's nobody home.
We pay one of the kids on our street to pick up the papers, water our plants, and mow the lawn. It's a great service and really appreciated as we don't have to worry about all of that when we're away and it still looks like someone's home. Could your child offer this much needed service? Starting His/Her Own Website
I've been seeing more and more kids start their own websites. Your child can have their website be about their favorite sport, their collection, their favorite video game etc., Whatever they are passionate about, they can do a website on. If you think this is something your child would be interested in, and you don't know how to get him/her started, click here.
Above are just a few suggestions on how kids can make money, but the list is endless!
Please contact us if you have any great ideas that we should add, or if your child already has his/her own successful business. We would love to hear from you!
