START GROWING YOUR MONEY TREE!Growing your own money tree is easy! You just need to look at money in a different way. Think of it as a seed... You're taking a walk, you look down, and you see money on the sidewalk. It's a penny. Do you pick it up? Maybe you don't feel like it's worth bending over for...it's just a penny after all. Our view of that penny affects the way we save and spend. Every penny, every dollar bill, has the ability to sprout and grow into a money tree. If we just give it a chance to do this, what an effect that would have on our future! If we keep spending on things we really don't need, we wipe out the possibility of that money sprouting and growing for us. We have now passed that opportunity on to someone else. Stop doing that! We need to learn how to "plant our money tree", even if it's just one dollar at a time. For example, if we wanted to grow our own apples, we would need to plant an apple seed in rich fertile soil. We would also need to water it regularly to help it grow. Money is exactly the same! If we plant it (save it, invest it) and water it (add more dollars to it), our money tree will start growing for us. Slowly but surely, the tree will become bigger and bigger and start producing apples (a harvest of money!). Now, on the other hand, if we plant the apple seed, but after a couple of months pluck the little apple sprout out of the ground and throw it away because it's not growing and producing fast enough for us, what will we get? Nothing! No tree, no leaves, no apples! We may as well have not planted anything at all. It takes time to grow a tree, don't pluck it out and throw it away because it's not producing fruit fast enough for you! (Of course I'm talking about your dollars and cents here). This is embarrassing, but I remember when I was in my early twenties (I knew absolutely nothing about investing), I put $2000 in a mutual fund because I had heard someone at work say that it was a good thing to do. I didn't know what a mutual fund was, but I asked the lady at the bank if she could take my $2000 and put it in one for me. After a couple of months, I looked at my balance. It had barely moved. In my all-knowledgeable wisdom, I figured that these mutual funds were a waste of my time and they didn't work, so I pulled the balance out (to the chagrin of the bank lady). If I had left it in there to grow and mature, 25 years later that $2000 would have grown into thousands of dollars. And what if I added to that $2000, maybe a dollar a day? That would have given me tens of thousands of dollars!! Why didn't anybody tell me this? Why isn't this taught in school? The sooner in your life that you start "planting your money tree", the sooner you can become financially independent. What wealthy people know about money isn't rocket science. They have a system... a money tree system. They consistently plant "seeds", and then... yawn... they let them sprout and grow. I know that sounds boring. But that is truly the key to earning an extra million or two in your lifetime. Just keep planting your "seeds", over and over again. Save a bit, invest it. Save a bit, invest it...repeat. The younger you are, the better! I know you're thinking... if it's just that simple, why isn't everyone a millionaire? Reason #1 - If you're anything like me, you put things off. Procrastination is the biggest reason why people don't become wealthy. We come up with a million excuses why we can't do something. Don't make excuses anymore! Every day you put this system off is costing you hundreds of dollars when it comes to your financial future! Reason #2 - People have a hard time with discipline and control. And did I mention patience? To be financially successful, we need to make a concentrated effort on making little "seed" deposits regularly over a long period of time. Being consistent is the pathway to your financial independence! Key words to remember if you want to think and act like the wealthy: sacrifice, system, control, consistency, discipline, patience Learn to look at money differently. Yes, it's a piece of paper, or just a penny, but that piece of paper or penny has the ability to multiply if given the chance. We are the gardener, and without us planting the seed and making sure it's watered, we'll just keep looking at an empty garden.
